Diet

Picture
Grass, grass, and more grass. It's what mustangs do all day. Eat grass. Grass is the main source of an American Mustang's diet. Flowers and leaves are also included in a small portion of a mustang's diet. Of course, all living things need water. Mustang herds usually travel and stay close to a 'watering-hole'. Watering-holes are lakes, rivers, or ponds that can supply large amounts of animals with the water they need all year round.

Feeding

Picture
Horses and many other herbivores have a special way of eating. Instead of eating a large meal once every few days like carnviores do, herbivores eat small meals for majority of their day. American Mustangs travel very slowly around an area like a lawnmower- chomping on grass and plants as they walk.

Habitat

Picture
American Mustangs are found in the western USA, usually hidden in areas of the Rocky Mountains. Mustangs are most commonly found in Montana, Wyoming, and Nevada. A large amount of American Mustang herds live in the Pryor Mountains, a mountain range connecting Montana and Wyoming. Desert scrubs and Grasslands are biomes where Mustangs thrive.
